My Story
On February 24th I will be swapping my bed for a sleeping bag in aid of Centrepoint’s London Sleep-out.
Almost 30,000 young people are #NotGoingHome this winter simply because they don’t have a home to go to whether this be through family breakdown, physical or mental health, school exclusion, exiting the care system, gang crime or asylum seeking.
The cost-of-living crisis has had a massive impact on young people and Centrepoint’s research shows that 1 in 4 vulnerable young people currently survive off of £20 a month.
That's £5 or less every week to spend on food and other bare necessities and with the additional financial burdens of rising food and energy prices, there is a real worry that youth homelessness will increase this winter.
